A Guide For the Bride

Preparing a wedding registry is one of the most enchanting parts of the wedding process. The beep of an in-store scanner or the click of the “Add to Registry” button of the website can really get the blood pumping, but traditional big-box retailers and department stores are not the only places to start a registry. We compiled a list of local Austin retailers who offer wedding registries for the happy couple-to-be.

Mockingbird Domestics, Spartan Shop and Serve Gourmet offer in-store and online wedding and gift registries for every occasion. These three stores are taking the registry experience to the next level. Whether it’s popping a bottle of cold champagne or offering you a list of trusted bridal vendors in the area, these stores have you covered. Serve Gourmet’s Brook Gentry has a motto: “Austin brides have Austin Pride.” For the Austin bride who wants to keep their registry local, read on to see what the stores offer and their top picks for your own wedding registry.

Love at First Scent

Davis has always loved perfume. Whether it was her mother’s numerous bottles neatly ordered on a bathroom tray or her father’s many earthy scents, she admired the way fragrance was part of their everyday routine.

Shop Local: Nannie Inez

Deeyn Rhodes knew she wouldn’t always be in fashion. What she did not know was what change she would make. That is, until she opened Nannie Inez. Now in its second location on South Lamar, Nannie Inez is making waves in the Austin design community.

From Fashion to Furnishings

After eight years in New York and two in London, the Texas-native made her way back to Austin. With a track record like Chloe, Paul Smith and Stella McCartney, Rhodes’ own project was only inevitable.

Shop Local: Studium

The outside of Studium looks inconspicuous. The industrial suite turned co-disciplinary space bears only a small, pale pink sign above its curious entry, revealing little to passersby.

Inside, however, is a different story.

Studium is teeming with a collection of vinyl records and unconventional books published by Punctum Records and Books, and handmade clothing and goods by Byron & Blue. The space is also home to Stowe Provisions, a small leather workshop; and Attendance Records, a nonprofit
providing music education programs to local schools.
